German paperback.

I just noticed that this is up on Amazon in Germany, so it must be all right for me to share! I hadn't seen this cover before, but think it's quite lovely and mysterious. It's the paperback version which is coming out in March 2009 (available here), or if you speak German and can't wait, you could look at the hardback, published by Pendo, here.

Hi Rachael
You may be approaching the number of different covers that "Mr Pip" has acquired around the world.

I have been reading your blog for some time and enjoying the insights into the never glamorous state of always having a deadline and the expectation from others of producing something wondrous. Not that I ever thought it was glamorous!
I noticed while in Brisbane recently that "Butterflies" was being shelved in the teens section of 2 book shops. Surely that will have quite a severe impact on the numbers of potential customers who will ever get to see it..... I would never have thought it was a story to pitch to that sector of the market. Do you have any contact with the people who make these decisions? The devolving of a decision to others on the design of a cover is one thing but this seems rather worrying.
Or should I be more chilled?
Cheers

Thanks for the heads up about the teen sections! I don't know how that has come about - I will try and get onto it and see what the story is.

Thank you!

sexy cover, however are they her ribs? Or maybe it is time for spectacles...I noticed the word 'roman' is that for a reason...?

No I don't think it's her ribs - I think it's a reflection of the butterfly wing. 'Roman' means 'novel' in German.
